Abstract

207,651. Breisig, A. Sept. 19, 1922. Producers; producer plant.-In a complete gasification process the hot gases from the blasting period are used to heat accumulators which serve to superheat the steam during the " run " and also the whole or part of the gases produced which gases are led back into the producer at the junction of the fuel bed and a superposed distillation chamber. Tar vapours may be left in the gases and by passage through the heat accumulator serve to carburet the gaseous mixture. During the " blow " a part of the air from a pipe 7 passes through the fuel bed K in the producer and a part is led by a duct 4 to a combined valve box and combustion chamber 3 from which the combustion products pass through a heat accumulator wand escape by an outlet 12. During the " run " steam is admitted by pipe 13 and heated in accumulator w passing through valve 3 to the producer and up through the distillation chamber E, the mixed distillation and water gas passing through a tar separator T into a duct 9. A part or the whole of this gas mixture is driven by a pump s through a duct 10 back to the accumulator w from which it returns through ducts 2, 1 to the producer. In modifications two accumulators may be used one for the steam and one for the gas circulated. and one of these may be situated inside the producer and surrounding the distillation chamber.
