Abstract

207,428. Waddicor, J. Jan. 27, 1923. Vehicle lamps. - An anti-dazzle device for vehicle lamps comprises a segmental lining of opaline or milk-white glass or other non-textile material having a like light-diffusing or lightabsorbing surface, for example cardboard, wood or sheet metal painted or enamelled with a paint similar in shade and lustre to opaline glass. The lining is preferably made up of tapered strips a secured bv adhesive to a backing b of rubber or canvas, or the strips may be mounted in hinged metal frames. Alternatively the lining may be moulded to the shape of the lower half of the lamp reflector. The lining is fitted in the lower part of the lamp d, covering about a third or half the lamp reflecting surface e, and extends from the front f to a point behind the bulb g where the outer edges of the strips are bridged by an elastic band c. Small section strips a<1> may also be arranged on the edges of the lining so as to control lateral reflection.
