Abstract

684,078. Elongated luminaires. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Aug. 15, 1951 [Aug. 18, 1950], No. 19256/51. Class 75(iv) An elongated luminaire has an openmouth elongated reflector 6 with one of is longitudinal edges 6c formed with an undercut circular section groove 6e hingedly retaining a circular-section bead 9a formed along one longitudinal edge of a transparent cover member 9. As shown the reflector 6 has an inner surface formed by two intersecting curved surfaces 6a, 6b, and is supported in grooves in the end plates 4, 5, and the cover 9, which may be glass or plastic, is of semi-circular crosssection with both its longitudinal edges 9a, 9b formed as cylindrical beads. The beaded cover edge 9b seats, in the closed position of the. cover, in a shallow groove 6f in the corresponding edge of the reflector and is retained therein by a releasable spring- clip 13, 15 pivoted to the reflector edge.
