Abstract
207,287. Leonard, W. J., and Rogers, J. N. O. Sept. 7, 1922. Reversing gearing.-A truck is driven by a coalcutting machine carried thereby through the medium of reversing gearing enclosed in a box v, v<1> and comprising a worm shaft t driving worm wheels y, y' in opposite directions; a sprocket 2 drives the truck and, with a sprocket 1, is mounted on a sleeve which is loose on the shaft of the worm wheel y and is adapted to be clutched thereto or to be driven from the shaft of the worm wheel y' through a clutch 4 and chain sprockets 3, 1. A shaft e<1> drives the worm shaft t at high speed through chain gearing and at low speed through reversible ratchet gearing, such as is described in Specification 207,368, [Class 80 (iii), Link-work &c.].
