Driving auxiliary parts and external machines, adapting vehicle driving- gear for. - A tractor lorry is fitted with a tipping body, a frame adapted to carry long lengths of timber, and a winding drum, pump, and belt pulley for driving external machinery. The engine 4 drives the rear wheels in the usual way through the gear box 6 and propeller shaft 8. By manipulating the clutch 20, the winding drum 12 can be driven at any of the gear box ratios through the shafts 18, 16. Also, by manipulating clutch 31, the lateral shaft 24 can be driven at any of these ratios through the chain and bevel gear 28, 30. The shaft 24 drives the high velocity centrifugal pump 23 and the belt pulley 22 for driving external machinery both being driven simultaneously to balance one another.
