Abstract

205,622. Taylor, L. Aug. 19, 1922. Roll holders.-In display apparatus for rolls of linoleum of the kind comprising a rotatable base support mounted on ball bearings and an upper support carried by a wall &c. bracket as described in Specification 123,274, the upper end of the roll is frictionally engaged by a spring controlled cone which acts to rewind the roll after it has been partly drawn out for display purposes, means being also provided for partly disengaging the cone to enable a greater length of the roll to be drawn off without overstraining the spring. The cone a frictionally engaging the upper end of the roll i, is provided with a cylindrical part e carrying a screw bolt or spindle b which is rotatably fitted in a fixed bracket c. Within a casing f secured to the bracket c, a spring d surrounds the cylindrical part e being attached to the cone at one end and at the other end to the bracket c so that when the roll is partly unwound the spring is stressed and rewinds it on release. To enable the cone to be partly disengaged from the roll when greater lengths are to be unwound, the arm of the bracket may be hinged at the angle j.
