Abstract

A process for transferring hanks (M) from a first series (10) of moving hank carriers or supports (11) to a second series (16) of moving hank carriers or supports (14) provides a synchronized movement for said two series, the supports of which are parallel and adjoining, and means for applying a force to the hanks transversely to the movement thereof whereby to transfer the hanks from the supports (11) to the supports (14). In order to supply such a force, the device has in one embodiment a rod push means (18) which is transversely reciprocated relative to the motion of the conveyors (10, 16). In another embodiment (Figure 3), the device has a deflector which can take an operating position in the path of the hanks, and an idle position out of the path of the hanks. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION A process and device for the transfer of yarn hanks This invention relates to a process and relevant apparatus for the transfer of hanks, mounted on a movable conveyor moving out, for example, from a drying oven, on other supports on which these hanks may be stored, or undergo further treatments.
This process and relevant device may be also used for shunting or sorting out some hanks on a different processing line, while other hanks adjoining said some hanks may continue in the undertaken treatment.
Hitherto, the transfer of hanks from a processing line had to be manually carried out; this involves a heavy work and high cost due to the use of labour.
Therefore, it is the object of the present invention to provide an automatic transfer of hanks from a series of hank-carrier or supports on a conveyor to other supports parallelly arranged to the former.
It is another object of the present invention to provide for selectively transferring even only few hanks with respect to the totality of treated hanks.
The foregoing objects have been accomplished by a process, according to which parallelly to a first series of hank carriers or supports, a second series of hank carriers or supports is moved, so that the two movements are in timing relationship to each other and the supports are one on the extension of the other, then a push device is provided as arranged transversely of the hank movement, which device shifts the preselected hanks from the first series to the second series of supports.
A device according to the present invention comprises a first hank conveyor having a first series of supports and a second hank conveyor with a second series of supports, which second conveyor runs parallel to the first conveyor and adjacent thereto, a timing device enabling a correct alignment of the supports of said first and second hank conveyors, and a push device which is operated whenever the transfer of a set of hanks from the first conveyor to the second conveyor is desired.
Afirst embodiment of the present invention provides that the push device moves transversely of the hank support motion in a reciprocation way. In this case, it may be provided that this push device will simultaneously shift a number of hanks in a transverse direction relative to the support movement.
Then, the push device may comprise an arm moving transversely of the hank motion, this device being for example controlled by a pneumatic piston.
In this case, the assembly of a device is also provided, as actuated for example by a motor variatorwhich as the push device is operating will move the latter in the same direction as the con veyors and substantially at the same speed.
A second embodiment of the invention provides that on the other hand said push device is a fixed element gradually moving or shifting as a chute the hanks of the first series of supports to the second series.
In this case, said chute-like element can be connected and disconnected, as desired, by the user either automatically (for example, by pneumatic cylinder), or manually.
The synchronism providing means may be mechanical, electrical means or the like, provided that the hank holding supports are correctly aligned. It is also provided that the synchronism may be disconnected or cut off, so that the conveyors can move also independently of each other.
The invention will now be further explained on the ground of some exemplary embodiments that have been shown in the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 is a perspective view showing a first embodiment of the invention; Figure 2 is a perspective view showing an embodiment of the invention similar to that of Figure 1; and Figure 3 is a view showing a second embodiment of the invention.
First referring to Figure 1, it will be seen that the hanks M are carried by a conveyor 10 having suspended thereon a series of hank holding supports 11, comprising at the bottom a horizontal portion, while laterally taking a C-shape 13, the upper end of which is connected to an element 12 of the conveyor chain 10. Parallel to said conveyor 10, a conveyor 16 is provided fitted with supports 14 having a first horizontal portion, then C-shaped portion 15, the upper end of which is connected to an element 12' of the chain quite similar to that used for conveyor 10. Means, not shown, provide for synchronism of the two side by side conveyors, so that the supports thereof are correctly aligned.
A suitably shaped element (for example, the horizontal bar 18 of Figure 1) is secured on a supporting upright 19, which is driven by means of a piston 20 transversely of the hank movement, which has been shown by arrow A. The movement of bar 18 will occur in the direction B. Thus, said bar 18 will alternately take a position 18', shown by dashed line on Figure 1, shifting the hank M from the position shown by full line to the positionM', as shown by dotted line in said Figure 1. The above mentioned upright 19 slides on guides 25, the latter being arranged in the direction of arrow B and secured on a slide 21, in turn movable on guides 22 arranged in the direction of arrow A. Said slide or base 21 is actuated by a variator 23 by means of a screw 24.
Thus, in addition to being transversely reciprocated in the direction of arrow B, said bar 18 will also be moved longitudinally in the direction of arrow A.
Another constructive arrangement relative to that of Figure 1 is shown in Figure 2, but which is otherwise functionally equivalent thereto. Instead of being placed in front of bar 18, the piston 20 is placed in the arrangement of Figure 2 at the opposite side. All of the other remaining parts are identical to those of Figure 1.
Referring now to Figure 3, it will be appreciated that also in this case two conveyors 10 and 16 have been provided as parallel to each other, having supports 21 and 14 for hanks M mounted thereon. In this embodiment, after said conveyors 10 and 16 have been timed to each other, the hanks are shifted by merely gradually shifting thereof and bearing on a bar 28 providing the transverse sliding thereof relative to the longitudinal movement of the hanks.
Said bar 28 may have an operating position, shown by full line on the drawing, and a not operating or idle position 28', at which said hanks forwardly move without being shifted.
The invention comprises all of those changes or modifications that will appear as evident to those skilled in the art.
