Abstract

Ratchet wrenches; sliding- jaw wrenches; handles.-In wrenches of the kind comprising a pair of pivotally connected members such as a, b, the former wholly or partially embracing the nut and the latter forming a handle and being adapted to force a plunger g into engaement with the nut, a spring i is provided against the action of which the plunger is moved. The handle b may have a projection h engaging the end of the plunger, and the parts a, b may be connected by a rule or like hinge c, the part m of which forms an abutment to limit the outward movement of the handles. The tool shown is particularly adapted for turning tyre valve nuts and is provided with a V-shaped recess n for actuating the valve locking cap, and with a circular recess p and pin q for depressing the valve plunger. In a modification the plunger g has a flat, hardened face and is inclined to the part a, and the handle is formed with an aperture to receive a tommy bar and for suspending the tool.
