Abstract

204,747. Masters, W. S. June 26, 1922. Valves.-For ejecting the exhaust gases remaining in the clearance space, the exhaust valve C is made of large diameter so as to have a plunger action during its descent on the exhaust stroke. The valve C may be replaced by a disc or plunger not having any valve action, in which case the exhaust, as well as the inlet, is controlled by the sleeve valve E. The exhaust and inlet passages B, D are of annular construction as shown. The sleeve valve may also have a port cooperating with the spark-plug for ignition. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 28265/08, 1673/10, 108,087, and 119,057.
