Two-stroke engines.-In double-acting engines of the kind in which the cylinder A reciprocates over fixed heads C, C<1> synchronously with the piston B, as described in Specification 173,145, the piston-rod B<1> passes through a stuffing-box B<2> in the head C<1>, and a single set of exhaust ports G is provided at the centre of the cylinder.
