Abstract

An enclosed electric motor (5) for driving a pump (6) such as a pump in a high pressure water cleaner. The electric motor is surrounded by a water chamber (4) having an inlet (10) connected to a water supply source (1) and an outlet connected to the suction pipe (7) of the pump. The pumped water is heated by the motor, and the greater the yield of the pump is the more the motor is cooled. The heat from the motor may be transferred to the oil surrounding the stator, said oil being in heat- transmitting connection with the water. <IMAGE>
