Abstract

A security cap comprises a housing (2), fastening means (13) mounted for rotation relative to the housing about an axis, the housing shielding the fastening means so as to render it inaccessible when the cap is located in an operative position, keying means (8a) movable between a first position in which the housing and fastening means are relatively rotatable and a second position in which the housing and fastening means are connected together for rotation with one another, resilient means (10) biassing said keying means towards said second position and at least two tumblers (6, 7) independently rotatable about said axis relative to said housing when the keying means is in said first position. The tumblers have means (6b) for preventing the keying means (8a) from moving from said first to said second position unless the tumblers (6, 7) are each angularly arranged in a predetermined position relative to the housing and locking means 5 are also provided for moving the keying means from the second to the first position. <IMAGE>
