Abstract

201,414. Beck, C., Beck, H. C., and Beck, C. J. Aug. 5, 1922. Reflectors. - Microscope specimens are illuminated from above by an annular glass reflector consisting of two spherical surfaces R<1>, R<2> of different radii of curvature, the one farthest from the objects being silvered. The curves and separations are selected so as to reduce the aberration to a minimum, neglecting the portion of the reflector removed to permit the microscope objective to pass through. A beam of parallel rays C, having the central portion stopped out by a disc D is brought to a focus at the object 0. Numerical data are given in the Specification.
