Abstract

A tractor is fitted with a frame (1) that extends above the driver to protect him in the event of the tractor rolling over and a resilient moulded plastics hood (28) covers the frame (1) and driver and is a close fit with the top of frame (35) and extends downwards therefrom so that in the event of a roll-over it is forced into engagement with the frame (1) and is not fractured. Preferably, the frame (1) is a roll-bar of inverted U-shape and the hood has a roof formed with a transverse ridge (34) to receive the top (35) of the roll-bar closely therein and two surfaces (36, 37) that extend downwards and fore and aft from said ridge (34). Preferably, said two surfaces (36, 37) generally conform to planes (A-A, B-B) defined by the top (35) of the roll-bar and extreme fore and aft portions of the tractor that would support the tractor if it were to roll onto its back. <IMAGE>
