Abstract

Regulating delivery by varying speed and pozver of motor, or by by-passes.-A pump 3 used in improved apparatus of the kind described in Specification 201,296, [Class 122 (iii), Steamengines, Kinds &c.], has cylinders connected to cranks on a shaft driven by an electric motor, or driven directly by a turbine. A spring-loaded accumulator 4, or a compressed-air or gas reservoir is arranged in the feed line to maintain a constant pressure, and controls a rheostat 5 connected to the motor. If the pump is driven by a turbine, the accumulator operates a by-pass in the pump delivery.
