Abstract

A machine for packing articles, especially articles of pasty consistency, for example cheeses, comprises an endless conveyor 2 carrying cups 6 for receiving the articles to be packed and advancing them in the machine. Each cup 6 has a movable plate 9 resting on its bottom, by means of which the articles to be packed are fed in succession to the interior of a gripping means 3. The gripping means 3 subsequently deposits the articles in turn in a predetermined position in relation to a packing device 26. After packing, each article is received in turn on the upper face of a vertically-reciprocable plunger 27 and is discharged from the machine by endless belts 29, 30 passing through slots 28 in the plunger 27. <IMAGE>
