Abstract

In a suspension of the strut-type for a steerable road wheel of a vehicle, a non-rotating strut 12 is provided with a hub carrier including a yoke 14 rigidly attached to the bottom of the strut, the yoke carrying a swivel member 15 which includes road wheel bearings and which is pivotable relative to the yoke about a steering axis B which can thereby be displaced from the strut axis C and provide a reduced steering angle as against conventional strut-type suspensions. The swivel member includes a steering arm 28 and a mounting 29 for a disc brake caliper, and as illustrated is incorporated in a vehicle with front wheel drive. <IMAGE>
