Abstract

Apparatus for jet dyeing a textile web 3 has a duct 9a downstream of the jet 9 provided with a delivery outlet 13 which is oscillated transversely over a zone 2a of the bath 1 where the web 3 and dye liquid are delivered from the duct into the bath, so that in said zone the web is folded in a regular fashion, thereby avoiding the irregular piling and consequent entanglements encountered in known apparatus where the web is directed into the bath from a fixed duct. A longitudinal oscillation may also be imparted to the web as it is delivered into said zone by means of an oscillating deflector 21, or by reciprocating the end of the delivery duct longitudinally. <IMAGE>
