Abstract

The invention relates to a receptacle for receiving an upright stack of thin sheet glass for storage and/or transport purposes and adapted to be withdrawn from any position in an assembly of a plurality of like such receptacles. The receptacle comprises first and second frame segments 5 and 6, respectively, which are interconnectible to define a box frame, the segment 5 comprises at least a horizontal supporting section 8 for the stack and a vertical abutment section 7 against which the stack can rest. Preferably each segment 5, 6 is of open structure, defined by intersecting pairs of beams, the segments being united by bolts 15. The segments may bear inflatable air cushions for engagement with the stack. <IMAGE>
