Abstract

In apparatus for treating a cloth material 24 following the hygro-thermic processing thereof in a steamer 1, the material passes through a slow-cooling liquid tanks is disposed within the steamer 1 and through which cooling liquid is passed, and leaves the steamer through a pressure seal 13, 13 min allowing continuous feeding of the material. It is then fed to a washing tank 21. The material is protected from air by cover 22 to prevent oxidation as the material passes from the pressure seal to the washing tank. The cooling liquid may be recirculated through the slow-cooling liquid tank 5, and cooling thereby is preferably effected to substantially 50 DEG C. <IMAGE>
