Abstract
198,271. Eaton, C. W. Aug. 11, 1922. Variable-speed epicyclic gearing is controlled by variably throttled pumps G, H driven bv an eccentric V secured to the planet-carrying drum H<2>. The pumps are formed in a gear casing Y. The planet gears P mesh with a gear N on the driving-shaft A and with a gear O on the driven shaft B. For reversed driving the drum H<2> is driven through a reducing-train E brought into action by a clutch L sliding on the shaft A. The throttling is effected by a valve in which a disc A', Fig. 4, is turned by a projecting arm B<1> relatively to a disc A<2>, each of these discs having V-shaped openings T, Fig. 5.
