Chain and like gearing, non-variable speed; bevel and worm gearing with longitudinal shafts. -A bicycle frame is made in two parts, one part 9, carrying the front wheels, having the other part 7 pivoted to it at or near the driving crank axle; the part 7 has an arm 8 which is connected to the part 9 by a spring 6. The free driving portion 30 of the chain is parallel with the part 7 and should' be horizontal and so that both free portions may be horizontal a guide wheel 13, Fig. 6, is provided. The guide wheel 13 may be located near the crank axle, as shown, or immediately below the back axle. In this case, and when the chain gearing is replaced by bevel gearing, the frame 7 is made in the form of a parallogram having two horizontal members. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a double gearwheel 10, Fig. 4 (Cancelled), or an additional guide wheel 13 acting on the part of the chain which is in tension. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
