Abstract

195,231. Rapson, F. L. Feb. 15, 1922. Moulding wheell tyres. - An air tube for use as a core in tyre-moulding, shaped to fit the cover before inflation, is farmed with a central treadrib 4 and side grooves 5, which may be stiffened by spaced ribs 13. The thickened rimportion 8 of the tube is of greater diameter before inflation than after, and, as shown in Fig. 4, adjacent the valve 10 is formed of increased thickness with canvas reinforcements 11. For closing punctures, overlapping rubber strips 14 may be secured as at 15 to the inner wall of the tube. Specification 141,927, [Class 144 (ii), Wheel tyres, Pneumatic &c.], is referred to.
