Fold-engaging files; attaciting files to covers. -In a pocket book or other device having double unperforated interchangeable sheets, the folds of the sheets are held between a longitudinal rigid support of concave section and a rod hinged to the support at one end and movably retained at the other end. The ends b, b<1>, Fig. 1, of the concave metal support a, Figs. 1 and 7, are bent at right-angles to the support, the end b having a central aperture accommodating a rod c hinged to the support at this end or retained in the aperture by an enlargement c<1>. The end b<1> is notched to receive the rod c, an enlargement of the notch engaging the conical end d<2> of a button d, which slides on the rod c, and is urged towards the end c<1> by a spring around the rod acting between a head at the end of the rod and an internal flange on the button d. The rod may be raised to insert or exchange leaves by pulling the end d<2> of the button d out of engagement with the notch in the end b<1>. The cardboard, leather, or other cover j, Fig. 7, of a pocket book or folder is retained between the support a and an outer concave plate f preferably riveted to the support a. The end c<1> of the rod c may be hinged to the end b of the support a by a small brooch, and the end b<1> may be hinged or spring-mounted on the support a.
