194,302. Timken Roller Bearing Co., (Assignees of Buckwalter, T. V.). Aug. 15, 1921, [Convention date]. Roller bearings.- In a cage for a conical roller bearing comprising rings 5, 5a connected by ribs 3, the ribs 3 are bent outwards to facilitate assembly as shown in Fig. 6, and, when the cone 6 has been placed in position, the ribs are bent inwards. The cage is formed from a hollow cylinder or from a flat disc of metal, the blank being first pressed to form a conical blank in which apertures are cut to form the ribs. The ribs are pressed to the shape shown, having concave faces 3<@a> protruding inside edges 3<b> and expanded outer faces 3<c>. Ribs 6<a>, 6b on the cone 6 engage the conical ends 4<a> and grooves 4b of the rollers.
