Ball and float valves.-In a condenser system comprising an auxiliary jet condenser operating under vacuum and discharging into the suction of the extraction pump of the main condenser or into the main condenser itself, the outflow from the auxiliary condenser is controlled bv automatic means such as a float valve. To the bottom of the condenser A, Fig. 1, is attached a chamber 1 communicating with the condenser by a segmental opening 1<a> and containing a float 4 connected by an arm 3<c> to a butterfly valve 3<a> controlling the discharge outlet 1<b>. A small hole 3<d> may be formed in the valve.
