Abstract

194,106. Dacre, G. B. Feb. 8, 1922. Folding seats; adjustments.-In a folding chair of the kind provided with a seat frame pivoted to four legs, arm rests hinged to the tops of the legs, and an adjustable back frame, the legs 3, carryng the seat frame 1 and hinged to the arm rests 6, are maintained in the vertical position by hooks and eyes 7 or similar fittings. The back rest 9, pivoted to the inside of the seat, frame, is supported by a flat bar 11 with its ends slidably mounted in slots 13. Pins 14 passing through holes 15 in the arm rests and bar 11 keep the latter in adjusted position. In a modification, the slots 13 are dispensed with, and the back rest is supported by a rod with downturned ends adapted to engage the holes in the arm rests.
