Abstract

191,977. Porteus, G. Feb. 27, 1922. Impact pulverizers.- Relates to disintegrators comprising a casing containing a rotary disc having studs or beaters on one side to coact with studs or projections on a ring fixed in the casing and wipers on the disc to throw the ground material against a stationary circumferential screen within the casing. The fixed ring 4 is spaced from the side cover 2<x> of the casing 2 so as to leave a space 7 down which the material unable to pass through the screen 6 falls, and a trough 4<Y> with its base in alignment with the base of the intake 1 is provided to return the material to between the ring 4 and the rotary disc 3 for further grinding. The screen 6 against which the ground material is thrown by the wipers 5 extends across the full width of the casing.
