Abstract

3495. Sundeen, E. O. March 4, 1914, [Convention date]. Trousers.-Ready-made trousers are taken from stock and adjusted to fit the wearer at the waist by means of an opening 5,6 which is formed by cutting away portions of the parts 3, 4 above the seam 2. The opening is filled by a flap 8 sewn along the side 5 and having an oblong extension 9 passing rearwards. Temporary stitching 11, 12 having been removed, the trousers are tried on the wearer, and the edge 6 subsequently sewn in correct position on to the flap, superfluous parts being cut away. The edge 6 is left unstitched for a sufficient distance at 16 to pass a waist-belt 15, the belt passing under the trouser waist and its lining and out again through an opening 14. An inner lining is provided and keeps the belt boused in a tunnel or casing between the lines 14, 16. A flap 19, sewn along its top edge to the trousers, hangs inside and covers the opening 14.
