Abstract

Benches, work. - Re lates to stands for use in workshops, show .rooms, and exhibitions, for-supporting petrol or like engines or gearboxes in different positions, and having two side supports adapted to be moved towards or away from each other to vary the width of a swinging cradle according to the dimensions of the engine or other article supported. The side supports consist of splayed legs 18 pivoted at their lower ends to the side members 6 of the base, and pivoted at their upper ends to circular plates 14 to which the parts 28 of the cradle are pivoted. The cradle is held at the desired inclination by pins 31 engaging holes 15, and the legs 18 are clamped in adjusted position by nuts and bolts 26 engaging slotted arms 24. The side members 6 of the base are connected by extensible axles 1 comprising two flat bars with bolt-holes 2 and on which the wheels are secured as shown in Fig. 4, the side members 6 being clamped between two nuts 9, 11.
