11,901. Ogden, J. E. L. May 14. Direct air pressure apparatus, automatic.-In an apparatus for forcing liquid such as sewage by means of compressed air, the liquid-receptacle a, Fig. 1, is provided with inlet and discharge pipes d, c, and a float chamber e within the receptacle. The inlet to the float chamber is by way of small holes h, acting as a strainer, and the outlet by way of non-return valve g, so that the float chamber can only be filled after the receptacle a is filled. The float i at its upper limit of movement opens the air-valve o, and at the same time closes the exhaust valve k, the latter being provided with an air-passage p and balancing-piston q. The valve g may be loaded so that the liquid in the receptacle a is discharged before that in the float chamber e. The float chamber may be external to the liquid chamber, the operations being otherwise the same. Specification 1322/13, [Class 64 (ii), Heating systems &c.], is referred to.
