Abstract

10,482. Miner, H. W. April 28. Bayonet and like joints; couplings, disconnectible.-A pipe coupling comprises a tubular member 8 with slots 9 leading to an annular recess in which projections 10 on one pipe 2 engage in a bayonet-like manner. The member 8 also carries a pivoted spring 12 adapted to engage a projection 13 on the other pipe member 3. The ends of the members 2, 3, preferably of conical form with an interposed washer 7, are thus held together within the member 8. A lever 14 pivoted to the projection 13 is provided to force the spring 12 on to the projection, and the hooked end 15 of the lever serves to disengage the spring when the lever is moved in the opposite direction.
