Abstract
7876. Junior, A. Feb. 16, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Cutting-appliances.-A hand knife 3 for cutting paper, adapted to be drawn along the edge of a guiding-ruler, is provided with a U-shaped member 4 adapted both to prevent the cutter from damaging the ruler and to cover the cutter when not in use. The member 4 is pivoted to the cutter, and the pivot is adapted to slide in a slot 2. When closed, the member 4 is held in place by spring action of its sides, or by the point of the cutter engaging a notch in the bend of the member.
