Abstract

488. Castleman, F. M. Jan. 8. Rollers for supporting colliery haulage cables &c. are provided on their circumference with right and left hand helical grooves D, E each leading to a circular groove F. The rollers may be in one piece or may be built up, as shown in Fig. 2, of two end members H, I and a central member J. They may be secured on the axle B by means of renewable wearing-sleeves C, C<2> one or both of which are threaded on the screwed ends of the axle B, spring washers K being interposed if desired.
