Abstract

Tools for setting-out work.-An apparatus for marking-out work at any desired angle from a scribing-plate is provided with electro-magnets b for holding the object, which may be rotated about two shafts h, k at right-angles. The shaft h is rotatably mounted in a bearing ch, and may be clamped in the adjusted position by a nut n engaging the split conical end of the bearing. The angle through which the shaft has been rotated may be read by the graduated disk m, which is provided with openings adapted to be engaged by a spring-pressed plunger r to allow quick adjustment to angles of 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, and 90 degrees. The electro-magnets may be rotated through an angle of 90 degrees about the shaft k, and may be locked in the adjusted position by a lever o engaging non- rotatable right and left handed screws, which are forced outwards against the sides of. the magnet casing. The angle through which the magnets have been rotated is read on a graduated segment l.
