Abstract

Creel arrangements; skein holders.-The unwinding of yarn, thread, &c. from hanks, skeins, &c. in winding, spooling, gassing, and like machines is controlled by a lever N supported at one end by the tension of the yarn and adapted at the other end n<1> to press against the hank in accordance with the tension. The end n<1> is provided with a substantially V- shaped cross-bar to adapt it to gather and straighten the strands. The reels or runners K, K<1>, upon which the skeins are mounted, are carried by levers J, J adjustably mounted on rods F, F<1> carried in bushes adjustably mounted on brackets carried on the frame of the machine. The controller lever N is pivoted on the axle of the upper reel, and is pulled so as normally to press the end n<1> against the skein by a spring S secured to an arm r adjustably mounted on the lever J. The lower reel is carried on a rod T, pivoted on the lever J' and provided with a counterweight V.
