28,030. Day, E. A. Dec. 5. Folding and collapsible seats. - In a folding cane or wicker chair of the kind in which a seat A is hinged to the back and front members B, D, the hinges are formed by loops or eyes M on the members B, D engaging over the projecting ends of rods A<1> on the underside of the seat A. Braces G, N are similarly pivoted to rods G'. The arms F are-hinged to extensions D<2> of the members D and are connected at the rear by a bar O which normally rests on ledges R. When the chair is to be folded, the bar 0 is lifted over the ledges R, the seat folding against the back B while the member D moves parallel with the back O.
