Abstract

23,335. McCombie, T. G. F. G. April 11, 1913. Davits; boat raising and lowering gear.- A Samson post 3 supports a pair of radial outriggers 4 from the ends of which the boat is supported by falls 6 which pass over the head 14 of the post to a winch 7. The boat is steadied during lowering operations by means of a rope 10 weighted by a sea anchor and carrying a conical bag filled with oil. The arms 4 can be rotated to an inboard position when necessary.
