Abstract

19,461. Sirovich, G. Aug. 24. Cementation.-Iron and steel and their alloys are cemented by being heated in contact with alloys, with or without carburizing-materials. The elements thus introduced may include nickel, chromium, manganese, silicon, titanium, tungsten, molybdenum, boron, and vanadium, and may be applied in the form of ferro-boron, chrome - iron, ferro - manganese, ferro - nickel, ferro - silicon, ferro - titanium, ferro - tungsten, ferro - molybdenum, chrome - nickel, chromemanganeso, manganese-boron, manganese-nickel, &c.
