Stencils.-Stencils made from coated sheets by impression with a stylus or in a typewriter are provided before impression with an additional coating on the writing side in a colour contrasting with that of the usual coating. This coating is readily removed by the impression and renders the impressed matter readily visible without removal of the sheet. The coating may consist of a mixture of lamp-black and bees-wax with benzine, and is specially applicable to stencil plates consisting of porous sheets coated with a hardened protein.
