[Published under Section 91 of the Act.] Two-stroke-cycle engines; pumps. - An airpump and a working cylinder are arranged at right-angles, the air delivered by the pump until the closing of the ports 3 being used for scavenging and the remainder for the formation of a combustible charge. The air entering the cylinder through the pipe 6 may be carburetted at 11, and the valves 8, 10 may be automatic or mechanically controlled.
