Blankets; rotary machines; offset machines.- Impression and offset blankets for rotary machines are passed over adjustable tensioning- rollers which are rigidly supported by the bearings of the pressure roller which presses the blanket towards the printing-roller so that the blanket automatically adapts itself to adjustments of the pressure roller. As shown, an endless blanket C, which passes around an impression cylinder B coacting with a printing- roller A, travels also around an adjustable roller D connected by bars F to the bearings of the impression cylinder B. These bearings are adjustable by means of screws G, H actuated by gearing J. In a modification, an endless offset blanket is similarly supported from a cylinder which coacts with a cylinder A for enabling impressions to be taken on the blanket. This blanket passes with the paper to be printed between two other rollers.
