Washing-machines with enclosed rotary receptacles.-The inner drum is built up of heads 18, 19 connected by tie-bars 20, to which are secured perforated plates 25, and lifters 21. The lifters are slotted at 100, and the tie-bars are also slotted to allow water to pass through the lifters. Compartments are formed by pairs of disks 26 placed back to back and held in place by the lifters and by spacing-rings 27 bolted to the tie-bars. The disks-26 are circularly corrugated, and are also provided with ribs 76, 46, the latter being for the purpose of keeping clothes away from the space between the ends of the lifters on the doors 40 and the adjacent disks 26. In order to deflect the clothes from the join between the lifters, perforated plates, and disks 26, the disks are dished as shown at 150. The heads 18, 19 are provided with flanged apertures 142 and with slots 144 to receive the ends of the tie-bars.
