Breech actions, hinged breech-block.-Relates to small-arms having two or more superposed barrels and a breech-block turning on a vertical axis and locked by a vertically-sliding bolt, and consists in forming the locking-bolt, and the part of the breech-block engaged by the bolt, with a series of projections and recesses, so arranged that, in the locking position, projections engage projections, but in the unlocked position the projections on each part are opposite recesses in the other part. In the construction shown in Figs. 1 and 6, the breechblock k is hinged at the rear k<1> on the righthand side, and the locking-bolt r engages a projection k<6> on the left-hand side of the breech-block. The locking-bolt has projections r<1> and a recess r<2>, and the projection k<6> of the breech-block is formed with a recess k<7>. An operating-lever q is provided for lowering the locking-bolt r and turning the breech-block.
