Abstract
15,967. Rollason, J. G. July 8. Hook fastenings.-A fastening for bags, purses, &c. comprises a hook g carried by a plate e attached to the bag, and a U-shaped part a cut away at a<1> and a' and attached to the flap. The bar is retained in engagement with the hooks by a tongue h pivoted at e<1> to the plate e, the tail-piece j of which is bent as shown to press the tongue h up against the hook g. In a modification, the tongue is pivoted at the bottom of the plate e. The part cut away in forming the opening a<2> may remain attached at the upper edge, and be bent back to act as a spring to assist in retaining the bar in engagement with the hook.
