Abstract

12,325. Newman, H. W. Sept. 7. Linear-dimension gauges. -Two slides a, b are fitted to an ordinary steel measuring-rule. Jaws c, d are provided for outside and inside measurements respectively, and upon the jaws d are special markings. The slide a is graduated with a vernier scale. The back of each slide is cut so as to leave a spring tongue, which presses on the back of the rule and holds the slide in place. The slides may be locked by screws k.
