Abstract

Arrangements of springs with mountings complete in themselves. -A set of four shock-absorbing devices of the type comprising a U- shaped plate spring with a helical spring interposed between the legs thereof, is employed in connection with perambulator undercarriages or spring frames, one leg of each plate spring being attached to the perambulator body and the other leg to one of the Cee spring or wheel axles. As shown in Fig. 2, the legs 1<x> of the U-shaped springs 1 are secured to the bodv 4 and the other legs 1<y> are connected by a strap 5 to the Cee springs 3, helical springs 2 being interposed between the legs 1<x>, 1<y>. In a modification, the legs 1<y> are connected to a cross-bar suspended by straps from the ends of the springs 3. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 4, the legs 1<x> are secured to the springs 3 and the legs 1<y> are extended and connected by straps 5 to studs 7 on the body 4. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 5. the shockabsorbing devices are used directly between the body 4 and axles 8, the legs 1<x> being extended to span the legs 1<y> and so limit the expansion of the helical springs 2.
