9838. Meyer, C. May 6. Resistances, inductive. Two or more coils, are wound on pole-pieces on a common iron core, and a movable armature is arranged so that the inductance of the circuit containing the coils can be varied continuously. In the construction illustrated, the armature g can be rotated so as to close the magnetic circuits of the coils a, b separately through an auxiliary pole-piece f, or to complete a magnetic circuit for the coils, so that they oppose each other. The number of coils and auxiliary pole-pieces may be varied, and the auxiliary polepieces may be wound so as to be of different polarity to the others.
