7. Place, R. H. Jan. 1. Loom dobbies; shedding- motions.- Leno and crossborder dobbies for weaving leno handkerchiefs or squares are provided with pattern - changing means always oper a t e d when the shuttle is at the same side of the loom, and with means for securing the halfway movement of the doup and standard healds. The cross-border motion is substantially the same as that described i n Specification No. 20,146, A.D. 1898. The pattern-changing means comprise a lever a pivoted to the barrel b with its upper end passing loosely through a slotted bracket d, a finger f with a wedgeshaped end pivoted to the lever a and connected to the selector lever h actuated by the barrel i, and a wedge-shaped bunter k carried by the T-lever m. As the lever m moves in the direction of the arrow, the bunter engages one of the faces f<2>, f<3> of the finger f, and thereby moves the lever a to bring one of the barrels b, c into operative position and the other into inoperative position. A roller o is rotated in alternately opposite directions by a connexion with a lever m<1> on the same axis as the lever m, and by a spring r, and moves the standard and doup healds half-way of the shed for crossing the warp threads, and then back again to the original position of open shed by means of flexible connexions p, p<1>, one set of which is secured to the jacks for the standard healds and the other set to the jacks for the doup healds, the connexions allowing for the ordinary movement of the standard healds in the plain weave.
