Abstract
190,673. McGhee, J. March 11, 1922. Rigid-jaw wrenches; sliding-jaw wrenches; handles.-A box spanner is formed of a member B pivoted on a pin D in a bifurcated shank C, and one or more inner or outer members B<1> slotted to slide on the pivot pin D. When the member B is placed on a nut the member B<1> slides inwards. The opposite ends of the members B, B', can be employed for two nuts of different sizes by rotating them about the pin D. The spanner can be used in inaccessible positions owing to its pivotal mounting. The shank C mav be formed at the end of an ordinary sliding-jaw adjustable spanner A, Fig. 1 ; or, a second bifurcated shank G may be formed integral with the shank C, Fig. 5, and have two or more box-spanners J, J' mounted on the pivot H. A hole K is provided for an operating lever.
